Lakeview, Calgary Homes & Lakeview Village Executive Homes
Lakeview, Calgary is bounded by Glenmore Trail to the north, Crowchild Trail to the east, North Glenmore Park to the south and 37th Street to the West. The T’suu T’ina First Nations lands also border to the west and the Glenmore Reservoir to the east and south.
The neighbourhood features many single-family homes that outnumber the condos by a significant margin. Along 66 Ave SW, there are a few Lakeview condos, especially near the corner of 66th and Lakeview Dr SW.
Many of the original Lakeview homes (the community was established in 1962) were built by Engineered Homes Ltd. of Calgary. The executive homes of Lakeview Village are the largest ones in the neighbourhood and command the highest values. A number of these lie along North Glenmore Park, affording their owners with privacy and natural beauty that is hard to match.
Lakeview home owners have a small shopping area at the corner of Crowchild and 66 Ave SW, but most do their shopping at Chinook Centre or Westhills Towne Centre, where the closest movie theatres are. Downtown is only 12 minutes away by car. Bus service also operates between Lakeview and the rest of Calgary.
The Glenmore Reservoir has paths all around it for walkers, runners and cyclists. Further hiking and wildlife watching opportunities can be found in the Weaselhead Flats. Lakeview homes are also close to arteries of the Calgary trail system, which allows safe access to the pool and ice rink at Glenmore Athletic Park as well as the city in general. The Earl Grey golf course is a short walk from most Lakeview homes and there are several other courses in the area, including the Calgary Golf and Country Club and Richmond Green Golf Course.
The Lakeview Community Association is an active part of the neighbourhood and organizes/hosts many activities for residents.
