Well, it’s officially spring, and the weather has been doing a great job of proving it. Sunny skies, warm winds, melting snow: it’s easy to imagine spending time outside in the sunshine, planting our gardens, and grilling up dinner with family and friends – isn’t it?
With the arrival of the new season, however, comes spring cleaning. We’ve already covered spring cleaning indoors – so what about the outdoors? That’s right; the outside of your home needs a little refresher too, and we’ve got 7 great tips to help you get started.
1. WASH THOSE WINDOWS: If the sunshine can’t get in your windows, it’s not going to feel much like spring – is it? First, take the screens out and hose them down. If they’re really dirty, take them in the bathtub and gently scrub…

As the weather warms up and the season starts to change, the task of spring cleaning nears. Set aside a couple full days to get it done, order in some takeout from your favourite restaurant (there’s no time for cooking this weekend!), throw on some rubber gloves, and open the windows to let some fresh air in – it’s time to get cleaning!
Here are 10 must-do cleaning tips to make sure your home is ready for spring:
1. Go through your pantry and medicine cabinets; get rid of anything that is expired, organize the remaining items so the most-used ones are up front and centre.
2. Clean the fridge and freezer – wipe with warm water and vinegar and wipe dry before returning food to the fridge.
3. Clean the toilets, sinks, baths, and showers.

Cleaning the house: it has to be done, but it’s no fun; especially when you’re using harsh chemical cleansers on every surface of your home. There are countless natural alternatives, however, that will do a great job without having to use toxic ingredients. Here are four of our favourites:
Lemon: use lemon juice on its own or combined with baking soda or dishwashing detergent to wipe up tough stains, get rid of lime scale buildup, or brighten laundry. If you’ve got a smelly garbage disposal, throw half a lemon into the disposal and turn it on.
Baking Soda: mix the powder with a bit of water to make a paste, and you can get rid of serious stains. Tea and coffee stained mugs, grimy sinks, and stained utensils will look sparkly and new with just a bit of a…

The leaves are changing colour, the days are getting shorter, and there’s a chill in the air that we can’t ignore; this can only mean one thing: autumn is here.
With this change in season, we also make many changes in our lives. Our summer wardrobe switches out to cozy warmer clothes; light, al fresco meals make way for slowly cooked comfort food; and, of course, bright summer décor gets replaced by cozy autumn accessories.
You don’t need to do a whole-home makeover to bring the beauty of autumn into your décor, just add a few fall-inspired items to each room and you’ll be set.
Here are five autumn must-haves for your home décor:
1. Go with copper: while metallic accents are great for adding a modern, stylish touch to your home, copper offers a certain…

Here are 5 easy tips to help you and your family beat the heat:
1. Install a ceiling fan: ceiling fans are much cheaper to install and run than air conditioners, and will reduce the temperature of a room (or area of your home) by three or four degrees on average. Make sure you have the fan running in the correct direction, and that you can feel the air blowing down (the reverse way helps keep your home warm in the winter).
2. Close the curtains: invest in…
