Everyone loves October. What’s not to love? It’s beautiful outside, we get to spend time with our family and friends (not to mention eat delicious food!) during Thanksgiving, and now, with Halloween on its way, we’re all starting to get in the festive spirit.
On top of that, it seems like there is so much to do in and around Calgary! This month has been full of exciting events (like the Calgary International Film Festival, Calgary Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival, and Wordfest!), and there is still a ton to do and see before the month’s end.
Here are three places you should visit before November arrives:

First up, zip lining. COP boasts North America’s fastest zip line. On your way down, you’ll reach speeds of up to 140km/hour, not to mention you’ll be dropping down 100 metres. Just check out Mayor Nenshi, Jann Arden, and Rick Mercer trying it out; there’s no denying it – it looks like a good time! Price: $60 per person (or $49.50 per person in a group of 12 or more).

The sunny skies we’ve been seeing this week bring on a hint of what’s to come in the next few months: summertime in Calgary! After such a long winter, we’re all gearing up for the upcoming season: soaking in as much sunshine as possible (often too much), barbequing anything that will fit on the grill, and taking relaxing walks along thy city’s many paths and trails. What so many Calgarians really look forward to, however, is festival season.
