With the arrival of the new season, however, comes spring cleaning. We’ve already covered spring cleaning indoors – so what about the outdoors? That’s right; the outside of your home needs a little refresher too, and we’ve got 7 great tips to help you get started.
1. WASH THOSE WINDOWS: If the sunshine can’t get in your windows, it’s not going to feel much like spring – is it? First, take the screens out and hose them down. If they’re really dirty, take them in the bathtub and gently scrub…

Do you have a green thumb that is starting to get antsy over the winter? It’s understandable; after all, in Calgary it can seem like winter is never ending. While you’re waiting for the ground to thaw so you can get working on your garden, exercise that thumb of yours with some clever indoor gardening projects.
Start with the containers for your plants – and don’t be afraid to get creative. Household items (like the honey bear jars and paper bags shown over at Curbly) will often do the trick, or you can just head to a garden centre to pick some up.
Next, dress up your containers. Add a little metallic accent or shimmer, like these ones, or opt for some colour instead (like these beautiful planters over at 52 Week Project).
Creative planters or not, pick…

If you can find the source, fix it up with caulking, insulation, or Tuck Tape. If you can’t find the source, Holmes says to contact a professional for help. “Remember,” he says, “when you get rid of drafts and cold spots you increase your home’s energy efficiency. So it’s worth your time and effort to…
