1. SAVE WATER This design featured on HGTV (pictured above) promotes water conservation with the use of native plants, local mulch, and a rain chain in place of a gutter. Click here for the plan as well as other water conservation ideas.
2. DITCH THE GREEN It can be tough to keep your grass green, for a variety of reasons. If you want to revive your lawn, it can be as simple as letting it grow out a little more than you usually would, raising the lawn mower blade, and easing up on the fertilizer. If you choose to opt out of fixing the problem, check out step two in this how-to list from Good Housekeeping.
3. GO HERBAL Planting a big herb garden in lieu of the flower variety definitely has its advantages. By including herbs that you’re not all that familiar with, you’ll be able to broaden your cooking horizons. On top of that, you’ll have a unique garden that will endure a much longer season than a floral one. Check out this page for a fantastic list of herbs and an accompanying plan.
One of our current listings, located in Aspen Woods, includes a professionally landscaped yard – which was completed last summer. Among the features of this corner lot is a stone patio, underground sprinkler system, and native trees and shrubs. Click here for full details of the house, and here for more information on The Landscape Artist Inc., the company that created the beautiful yard design.
