Upscale single family homes dominate Bayview, with lakeside properties being the star attraction. Calgary waterfront homes are exceptionally valuable and Bayview lakeside property can go for in excess of 1.5 million dollars. Bayview homes are generously appointed with many upgrades and amenities. AMENITIES
For those Bayview homeowners who are set farther from the water, public access is available along 14th Street or in Heritage Park and South Glenmore Park. A small marina lies on the western edge of the community.
Bayview homes are served by Glenmore Landing Shopping Centre, on the corner of 14 St SW and 90 Ave SW. Willow Park Village Shopping Centre and Southcentre Mall are within a short drive. Other shopping and dining opportunities are within an easy distance via Heritage Drive, which connects with Macleod Trail and Downtown Calgary.
HISTORY
Bayview was annexed in 1956 and became a primarily residential community in 1967. Many of Bayview’s homes date from the ‘60s and early ‘70s; newer homes are becoming more common. Most older Bayview homes have been completely renovated to today’s code standards and feature the latest in home technology.
